NEW TRAINING COURSE: HOW TO PREPARE PIPELINE MANUALS

This program will review the Operation and Maintenance Manual requirements in 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195 for gas and hazardous liquid pipeline systems. The manuals are more than a simple cut-and-paste of regulatory requirements, they must include the “how to” procedures to operate and maintain a safe pipeline system.

The key regulations that must be addressed will be identified, with a suggested layout for an effective Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manual. Typical content for each manual section will be discussed, along with identifying other resource information that may be included. Tips on technical writing and communications will be included.

Electronic or web based manuals will be showcased in the program. Creating an online manual is more than posting a PDF to a website. This program review what is needed for a website to deliver manuals, the conversion process from paper or PDF to web based systems, and the “do’s and don’ts” of content creation that will eventually become a web page. Updates become easier and delivered to all personnel at once.

The final component of a manual is the ability to access the content from anywhere. Manuals On-Line makes the delivery and upkeep of critical manuals easy and effective for all personnel. Attend this program to learn more about creating efficient, effective manuals.
